Are you interested in the concept of babywearing but are unsure which sling is for you? Too scared to spend your hard earned money on something that you have never seen in the flesh, let alone tried with your own baby? Not sure how to put on all the funny looking pieces of material?
BirthFriendly's new BabyWearing consultancy is here to help!
Sarah at BirthFriendly is a very experienced “Babywearer”. She has “worn” all four of her children and has owned and used pretty much every type of sling and carrier there is, she still regularly carries her youngest child and often carries her 3year old toddler too! She has expert knowledge of the slings available today and in particular which sling suits your changing needs best as your baby grows.
So How Does The BabyWearing Consultancy Work?
Sarah will come to your home at a time to suit you and bring with her a very large selection of carriers for you to try (and don't worry if you still have a bump as she'll bring a life sized doll with her too!), after assessing your wants and needs she will narrow this selection down and suggest a few slings which she feels will suit you best. She will then teach you how to put them on and how to use a variety of different carrying positions. After around an hour or so of “playing” with the slings you will have the opportunity of purchasing a sling directly from Sarah at a very competitive price.
Do You Have A Wide Selection of Slings to Choose From?
Oh Yes! We will generally bring around 10 to 15 different slings with us, these normally include (but are not limited to): Calin Bleu Wrap, Coorie, Close Carrier, Ellaroo Wrap, Ergo, Kari-Me, Maya Wrap, Mei Tai, Moby Wrap, Patapum, Tricotti and Wilkinet.
Is There A Charge For The Service?
A small charge is made depending upon the distance from Saffron Walden. As follows:
Up to 5 miles from Saffron Walden £5
5 to 10 miles from Saffron Walden £10
10 to 15 miles from Saffron Walden £15
15 to 20 miles from Saffron Walden £20
If you place an order for a sling on the day however these charges will be waived and the consultation will be entirely free of charge.
Do You Demonstrate & Sell Slings Anywhere Else?
We regularly demonstrate and sell slings at BirthFriendly's Natural Parenting Workshops in Saffron Walden and at the Royston Centre For Complementary Health, we also demonstrate at NCT classes and baby groups. If you run a group or antenatal class and you would like to book a BirthFriendly BabyWearing Consultancy then this service is provided entirely free of charge up to a 20mile radius from Saffron Walden, providing that five or more mums or mums to be are in attendance.
